DeWalt for MTD Products:Retail displays for DeWalt’s cordless outdoor power line

Rendering of a DeWalt gondola display for battery-powered outdoor power equipment

DeWalt’s battery-powered trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws had to win shelf space against gas-powered equipment and other cordless brands. We designed the standalone display program to help them do it.

What we did
  • Retail display design
  • Branding & messaging
  • Promotional support

The challenge

The displays had to compete for attention among thousands of SKUs in big-box stores, scale down to the smaller footprint of specialty retailers, and explain the advantages of the 20V MAX and 60V MAX FLEXVOLT battery systems—power, runtime, and gas-free performance—while reinforcing the brand’s “Guaranteed Tough” identity.

The approach

  • Large-format modular displays for big-box retailers, mixing gondola and standalone units
  • Separate versions for the 20V and 60V lines to serve consumer and commercial buyers
  • Yellow-and-black branding visible from across the aisle, in rugged, impact-resistant materials
  • QR codes linking shoppers to product demo videos
  • Signage built on the “Get More Done” campaign: “Gas-Free Power,” “Longer Runtime,” and “Built for the Toughest Jobs”
  • Product graphics showing real-world applications

The display concepts gave DeWalt’s internal and external teams a clear plan for every retail channel the new products had to compete in.

  • DeWalt 60V MAX FLEXVOLT standalone display concepts
  • DeWalt 20V MAX standalone display concepts
  • Alternate DeWalt 20V MAX standalone display layouts

What we delivered

  • Gondola and standalone display concepts for big-box retail
  • Scaled versions for specialty dealers
  • Distinct programs for the 20V MAX and 60V MAX FLEXVOLT lines
  • Campaign messaging tied to DeWalt’s broader marketing

“TRSTY Media took our vision and turned it into a retail experience that’s tough to beat. Their display concepts helped us envision the various displays that were needed for the mix of retail channels the new products had to compete in.”
